My first attempt at face rigging in Maya, done using a copy of Ciri's model from the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
I wanted to achieve a similar range of motion to the own utilized in the game itself, mostly realistic to human movement with allowances for slight exaggeration should the animator need it. In addition to standard face rig controls, I also created a series of controls for common mouth shapes to make dialogue animation as efficient as possible and save the animator time on frequently repeated forms.
I passed the rig off to an animator, Jennifer Sarlo, several times through the making of, to test for usability and bugs, and a final motion test from her is also included above.
